John Denver was a superstar performer who influenced millions of people by his popular-folk hits Many of them were based in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. grew up in Roswell New Mexico. He was enthralled by Colorado. He later settled in Aspen. A few beat a path through Colorado after hearing Denver's popular tunes for the state he was raised in. G. Brown the curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame declared that John Denver was by far one of the most popular musicians who was a symbol of Colorado. In 2011 Denver was named the first Hall of Fame inductee. Denver has become the image of Colorado to many across the globe. While traveling, I will meet people on the other side of the globe. For example an individual from New Zealand. And when someone asks you if you're from Colorado people will respond with "Oh John Denver!" Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads is the only Denver Top 10 Hit as a solo artist after having worked with small folk groups. The song was composed by Bill Danoff. Danoff initially wrote the song to Johnny Cash's tune with a focus on Johnny Cash, however Denver knew from the first time he heard first versions of the song that it could be a huge hit. The song was performed on stage in Washington D.C. to a large audience, Denver recorded it just days later.
